Readings in Preventive Maintenance

Preventive maintenance follows a planned set of actions. On performing regular preventive maintenance activities, you can ensure that your asset continues to operate efficiently. Generally, you can schedule maintenance for an asset based on time or its usage. Time-based maintenance for similar assets may not be efficient in scenarios where the usage or operation hours of the equipments vary. In such cases, usage-based maintenance is preferred as it allows you to plan the service with respect to the actual wear and tear of the equipment. Ultimately, it segregates servicing the heavily and less used assets, optimizing the cost.

This method relies on data to analyze the usage of the assets in a facility, based on which the maintenance is scheduled.

For instance, let us consider the maintenance of electric motors. The recommendation is to lubricate the motor as it crosses the 230V mark every time. This triggers preventive maintenance work orders for every 230V usage.

The application allows you to predict the usage of an asset based on the frequency settings and readings on the respective PM record.
