Managing Scoping

In order to prevent users from accessing other users' data or unauthorized info, any organization must set boundaries through scoping. The Scoping module acts as a platform to configure the required rules that helps you extract and display only the data relevant to the application users. To navigate to this module click the (Settings) icon and select Scoping under the USERS AND ACCESS section. The Scoping screen appears with the list of configured items as shown below.

Note: You can use the drop-down field at the top of this section to filter and display the scope rules configured for a particular application.

The upcoming sections explain how to add a new scope and configure various aspects of the scope rule.

Adding a Scope

Scoping enhances data security by restricting the application users to access only specific records that fall under their scope. When a scoping rule is applied, the data the application displays in list views and reports depends on the set criteria.

Configuring Scope Settings

A scope finds its usage depending on the rule set while creating one and the access rights (like accessible site and team) configured for a user account. You can configure the data scope for an application based on its modules looked up across the other modules.
