User Scoping vs Permission Set

Permission set configuration is the next-level information filter applied to the scoped data. To be more precise, user scoping defines what records the user can view, wherein permission set controls what information the user can access in the qualified records. For instance, through user scoping, you can configure the application to display only the assets belonging to a specific category. Upon configuring permission sets, you can hide the particular asset details (like Status, Location, Created by) irrelevant to the user. Ultimately, user scoping and permission set configuration act as row and column filters, respectively.
