Overview

In Facilio, approvals can be configured for a particular action, or on a condition where certain criteria are met. A workflow step that is awaiting approval requires the consent of an individual or any member belonging to a particular group or role. If the step is approved, the workflow continues to the next step. If the step is declined, the workflow returns to a previous step or is halted. Based on the reason(s) the user provides for declining the step, adjustments can be made, allowing the step to be re-sent for approval.

The Approvals module allows you to configure how records are approved in the application. An approval process defines what are the actions specific to the module that require approval and who are authorized to process the approval request. It further defines other aspects including what are the actions to be executed at various states of approval, that is, one set of actions specify what to do if a record doesn’t advance to that step and other actions specify what happens if an approver approves or rejects the request.

Note: Similarly, different sets of approval processes can be configured for various modules.
