Overview

A workflow can include any number of steps, and may involve a combination of people and activities. Those who manage workflows always look for opportunities to eliminate bottlenecks and improve visibility into the flow. The Workflow module of the application allows you to automate standard internal procedures and processes saving time across your organization.

While creating a workflow, you should specify when does the workflow apply, that is, the activity (for example, create or edit) for which the workflow applies. Further, the condition to be evaluated against the activity must be defined, with respect to which the resulting actions are configured. These conditions and actions are always correlated with the if and then logic.

The following diagram illustrates the execution of a workflow rule at the instance of the specified activity.

Note: In the above scenario, the workflow rule is executed when a new record is created in the selected module.
