Managing Workflows

Workflow management is all about optimizing, improving, and possibly automating workflows to eliminate repetition and reduce errors, thereby improving productivity. A workflow is defined as a sequence of steps that produces a single outcome.

Business processes adopt various workflows to ensure tasks are completed, and business goals are achieved on time. These workflows in turn involve various activities (like, sending emails and messages, scheduling meetings, and so on) that might require a great deal of human intervention to keep them moving forward.

Mostly, manual workflow management might lead to mistakes, long turnaround times, non-compliance, and other issues. Automating workflows is an efficient way of managing business processes, as an automated process can always be tracked and evaluated much easier than a manual process, leading to new insights and improvements.
